Senate Bill No. 412: Day of Goodwill Act of 2013

It is proposed that December 26 be declared as a national special non-working holiday, to be known as ‘Filipino Day of Goodwill’, which is patterned after the so-called “Second Christmas Day” or “Boxing Day” in several counties where gifts and alms are distributed to the poor a day after Christmas. This will give enough time for our citizens to travel and prepare for work on the next working day, since more often than not, they can only conveniently wind up their holiday celebrations by Christmas day’s end.
