Senate Bill No. 2572: Red Cross and Other Emblems Act 2010

This bill seeks to define the use and protection of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Red Crystal and Red Lion and Sun Emblem as recognized emblems to protect humanitarian workers, vehicles and medical facilities in times of armed conflict. This bill proposes that under the control of the Department of National Defense, the medical service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines shall, both in peacetime and during armed conflict, use the Red Cross to identify its medical personnel, medical units and transports on the ground, sea and air. The Department of Health shall authorize the marking of the Red Cross emblem used as a protective device in time of armed conflict, in consultation with the Philippine Red Cross.

Senate Bill No. 2534: Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2011

Since computers are now used to commit crimes, this bill is written for the purpose of listing the offenses perpetrated through the use of computer and new technology. The bill likewise provides penalties against individuals violating this proposed law, and enforces corporate liability.

Senate Bill No. 2377: Resetting the Barangay and SK Elections Act

This bill aims to reset the October 2010 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections to the last Monday of October 2011. This is pursued in order to save taxpayers’ money, which in part, have been already spent on the recently concluded May 2010 elections. Furthermore, it will help the county recuperate from the wounds of severe partisan politicking of the national election.
