Week 89: March 12 – 18, 2018

On 12 March 2018, BBM received a Notice from the COMELEC informing the parties that the recount of ballots in the election protest case of Tan vs. Hataman will commence on 4 April 2018. It also directed the parties to observe proper guidelines during the recount proceedings.

On 13 March 2018, BBM received a Notice from the COMELEC which “noted” the Minutes of the Inventory and Sealing of Ballot Boxes and other Election Documents in Taraka, Lanao del Sur relative to the election protest of Tan vs. Hataman.

On 14 March 2018, BBM received a Letter from the COMELEC requesting for temporary custody of the ballot boxes in some of the clustered precincts in Languyan, Tawi-Tawi because the same were also involved in the election protest of Ajihil vs. Sahali.

After 89 weeks (or roughly 627 days), we are still waiting for the PET:

• to begin the manual recounting of votes for Camarines Sur, Iloilo & Negros Oriental
[per undertaking # 11 of 21]
