With 54% preference, BBM sweeps through “all areas, all classes” in OCTA Research survey for president; Leni slumps down to 14%; Isko, 12%: Manny, 10%; Ping, 5%

Press Releases
26 December 2021

PARTIDO Federal ng Pilipinas standard-bearer Ferdinand ‘Bongbong” Marcos Jr. continues to dominate all surveys for presidential preference, this time pulling away once again with a whopping double-digit lead in the latest OCTA Research pre-election poll, in contrast to Leni Robredo who came crashing down with only 14 percent.

The OCTA Research survey was conducted from December 7-12.

In what has become a familiar refrain since different survey firms came out with their respective nationwide results almost two months ago, Marcos received more than the majority of the preference votes with 54%, while Robredo is a distant second with 14%.

Francicso Domagoso received 12%, Manny Pacquiao has 10%, while Panfilo Lacson has 5 percent.

Marcos also stamped his class in the National Capital Region with 37% preference as compared to Robredo’s seven percent, and lorded it over in Luzon, 57%, Visayas 50%, and Mindanao, with an eye puffing 63% over Robredo’s 8 percent.

In the socio-economic class, 63% of respondents from Class ABC said they will vote for Marcos if the elections were held today, Class D recorded 55%, while the Class E bracket registered 46%.

At least 5 percent of the respondents are still undecided.

The latest results showed that Marcos will dominate the May 2022 presidential derby in all areas in the country and all social classes.

In the vice-presidential race, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte is also a runaway winner if the polls were held today with her 50% mark, as opposed to her closest pursuer Sen. Vicente Sotto III, who received 33% of the votes.

Duterte also validated her claim of dominance in Mindanao after she registered 71% preference, as compared to Sotto’s 17%.

In the socio-economic class, Inday Sara consistently held her ground with 61% in the ABC Class, 41% in the D Class, and 58% in the E Class.

The latest OCTA Research survey results confirmed and reinforced the previous polls by other firms, SWS, Publicus, Kalye Survey, DZRH, RMN, and Pulse Asia, among others, showing Marcos pulling away from the pack of other presidential hopefuls five months removed from the May 2022 elections.

Meanwhile, Marcos said that while he is honored and humbled with the positive response from the people, the BBM-Sara UniTeam will not be complacent and will continue to push for a unifying leadership, which he said is the only way for the country to get back on its feet after the debilitating pandemic.
