MANILA, Philippines – Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. emerged as the top choice for president in the 2022 elections, according to a survey released by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) on Monday.

In the poll conducted by the SWS last October 20 to 23, Marcos got 47% among respondents, followed by Vice President Leni Robredo with 18%.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso landed on third place with 13% followed by Senator Manny Pacquiao with 9%. Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa were tied at the fifth spot with 5% each.

The survey showed that 3% of the respondents were still undecided.

Meanwhile, Senate President Vicente Sotto III topped the vice presidential survey with 44%, followed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio at 25%. Senator Francis Pangilinan and Dr. Willie Ong were tied for third with 13% followed by Buhay Party-list Rep. Lito Atienza with 3%

The SWS said Stratbase ADR Institute Inc. commissioned the survey. It was conducted using face-to-face interviews of 1,200 registered voters nationwide.

It was conducted a few weeks before Sara Duterte formally filed her candidacy as vice president, while Senator Christopher “Bong” Go declared his presidential bid only last November 13.
