MANILA, Philippines — Former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Junior remains as the top preferred presidential candidate in the May 2022 elections, according to the latest survey of Pulse Asia.
The survey results released on Sunday showed that 60 percent of the respondents said they would vote for Marcos Jr. if the elections were held today.
Vice President Leni Robredo came in second with 16 percent.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Senator Manny Pacquiao each got 8 percent, while Senator Panfilo Lacson had 4 percent.
Labor leader Leody de Guzman got 0.02 percent, Ernie Abella had 0.05 percent while Faisal Mangondato got 0.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio also emerged as the frontrunner for the vice presidential race in the latest survey.
Duterte-Carpio received 50 percent of support from the respondents.
She is running in tandem with Marcos Jr.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III came in second with 29 percent, followed by Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan with 11 percent, Doc Willing Ong with 5 percent, and Cong. Lito Atienza with 1 percent.
The survey was conducted from January 19 to 24 using face-to-face interviews.
The Pulse Asia said the nationwide survey was based on a sample of 2,400 Filipino adults.
