Typhoon Victims Gain Strength from NP Visit

2 March 2010

b>ROSALES, PANGASINAN – Senatorial candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos gave words of encouragement to the victims of typhoon Pepeng when the Nacionalista Party visited the Tent City here.

Hundreds of Pangasinan residents are still staying in a makeshift tent community while waiting for relocation arrangements from the local government.

“It’s very depressing to be in this kind of situation but there’s always hope,” said Marcos.

The Ilocos Norte solon felt that their visit inspired the people to have a positive outlook and gave them hope that genuine change is still possible in the government.

Despite being in dire situation, the residents of the typhoon-ravaged city still welcomed with hugs and smiles political party headed by standard bearer Manny Villar.

Meanwhile, Marcos urged all Cabinet secretaries who are running for office to resign immediately.

“What they are doing is leadership by very bad example,” said Marcos during a press conference in Urdaneta, Pangasinan.

Some Cabinet secretaries refused to leave office despite the Supreme Court decision that deemed them as resigned.

“The government resources and clout that they can use through their office can give them undue advantage against their opponents,” said Marcos.

“I think this is another example of the brazen use of political power of the Arroyo administration to continue its rule.”
