The Manila Times : Marcos, Duterte-Carpio lead another survey

UNITEAM tandem Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio topped the survey conducted by The Issues and Advocacy Center from April 4 to 15.

Marcos got the support of 55 percent of respondents, posting a 36.5 percent lead over his closest rival, Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo.

On third spot was Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso at 11.75 percent. He was followed by Senator Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao at 6.5 percent and Senator Panfilo "Ping" Lacson at 5 percent. There was a five-way statistical tie among Labor Leader Leodegario "Leody" De Guzman with 1 percent, former Palace Spokesman Ernesto Abella with 0.375 percent, Faisal Mangondato, 0.375 percent, former defense chief Norberto Gonzales, 0.125 percent, and Jose Montemayor, 0.125 percent,

The pollster said that 1.25 percent of the respondents reported that they were undecided or don't know yet which presidential candidate to support in the election.

Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Duterte-Carpio received support from 50.5 percent of respondents, posting a 23 percent lead over her closest opponent, Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto 3rd who got 27.5 percent.

He was followed by Dr. Willie Ong with 9 percent and Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan with 8 percent. There was also a five-way statistical tie among Buhay Party-list Rep. Jose "Lito" Atienza Jr. with 2 percent, Rizalito David with 0.5 percent, former Akbayan Party-list Rep. Walden Bello, 0.375 percent, Carlos Serapio, 0.125 percent, and Manny Lopez, 0 percent.

Two percent of the respondents have yet to choose their vice presidential candidate.

The pollster used a combination of face-to-face multistage probability sampling and digital tools to survey the 2,440 respondents ages 18 to 65. The respondents were registered voters in the identified survey areas.

Results of the survey have a ±3 percent sampling margin of error at a 98 percent confidence level.
