PRESIDENTIAL candidate and former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Vice Presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio were endorsed by Camarines Norte Governor Edgardo Tallado for the 2022 elections.
He urged his constituents to vote for the tandem in the upcoming polls, saying that the two candidates will be able to help the province if elected in their respective positions.
Tallado added that it is important for both candidates to win so that Duterte-Carpio's plans and projects could be implemented during her term.
The Camarines Norte Governor said this during the launch of the Davao City Mayor's "Sara para sa Barangay" initiative in Agro Sports Center in Daet, Camarines Norte, where 1,500 community and sectoral leaders were attending.
"Sara para sa Barangay" aims to bring closer to the communities, especially low-income families, the safety net or welfare programs to protect them from poverty through a consultative approach.
Duterte-Carpio acknowledged the warm welcome she received from the locals, despite Bicol being known as the bastion of Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo.
She assured that she will continue to work hard as vice president should she be elected. She added that she will bring with her experiences and lessons from Davao City — which she also learned from her parents.
Camarines Sur Representative Luis Raymund "LRay" Villafuerte also expressed support for the Davao City Mayor's candidacy, highlighting her support to the provinces during disasters such as typhoons.
"We're hoping to give our all-out support to Mayor Sara, not only in words but also in actual votes," he added.
The "Sara para sa Barangay" initiative was also launched in Pili, Camarines Sur on Sunday, and was attended by at least 500 community and sectoral leaders at the Capitol Convention Center inside the Camsur Watersports Complex, as well as in Sorsogon City on Saturday.
