FORMER senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has sent thousands of gallons of water and filtration kits to the areas devastated by Typhoon "Odette."

The presidential candidate is also preparing to ship relief items to Palawan which was also severely affected by the typhoon.

In a radio interview on December 23, Marcos said the water and filtration kits can produce water for 100 people a day.

"Ang kritikal ngayon sa panahon na ito (The critical [basic need] in these times, which is few days after ng bagyo (the typhoon), ay tubig (is water)," he said.

"That's why we sent almost 30 tons of water in different areas [ravaged by the typhoon]. We will send filtration kits next," Marcos said.

He said he knows the needs of the people based on their experience during Typhoon "Yolanda" in 2013.

The team of Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio had earlier sent aid in Siargao, Surigao, Bohol, Maasin, Cebu, Masbate and other storm-ravaged areas.
