CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija: More than 300,000 people attended the grand rally of presidential frontrunner Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. held in Barangay Sta. Arcadia in Cabanatuan City over the weekend.

Hosted by Palayan City Mayor and Nueva Ecija candidate for governor Adrianne Mae Joson Cuevas and members of her political party, the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban), officially endorsed Marcos, a former senator, as their candidate for Malacañang in the elections.

President Rodrigo Duterte's daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, was also endorsed by Cuevas last December as the PDP-Laban's candidate of choice for vice president.

Nueva Ecija has 1,541,685 registered voters.

During the 2016 elections, when Marcos ran for vice president, he got 541,980 votes in Nueva Ecija.

Cuevas' running mate for vice governor Edward Joson recalled that Marcos visited Nueva Ecija twice in recent years.

Joson said the former senator was in San Jose City in December 2021 and returned in March 2022 to Santa Rosa town.

Before the grand rally, Marcos met with local candidates from 27 towns and five cities in the province followed by a picture-taking at Barangay Barrera in this city.

In his speech, he thanked Cuevas for supporting him and Duterte-Carpio.

"Kung papalarin ako, kakailanganin ko ang tulong ng lahat ng local leaders at lahat ng mamamayan, at hindi madaling trabaho ito para susunod na administrasyon, at ako ay nagpapasalamat sa Nueva Ecija sa maagang suporta sa akin at sa buong UniTeam dahil kayo ang nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa amin (If I make it, I will need the cooperation of all local leaders and all the people, and this is not an easy job for the next administration, and I thank Nueva Ecija for its early support for me and the whole UniTeam because you give us inspiration)," Marcos said.

"Ipagpatuloy at ipakita ang tunay na boses ng mamamayang Pilipino. Huwag masyadong magtiwala sa numero na galing sa mga surveys. Kailangang maging boto yan. Kailangan bantayan ang ating mga boto, matiyak at maging maliwanag at kapani-paniwala, na maging tunay na tinig na Pilipino ang lalabas na boto. Anumang tulong o suporta ay sabihan niyo lang kami sa ating BBM-Sara headquarters dito sa Nueva Ecija (Let us show the true voice of the people. Don't completely trust the numbers from the surveys, Those numbers should translate to votes. Let us guard our votes. That they are authentic and represent the true voice of Filipinos, Any help or assistance that you might possibly need, just tell us at the BBM-Sara headquarters here in Nueva Ecija)," he added.

The UniTeam is a consistent topnotcher in surveys conducted by Pulse Asia and other pollsters.

Marcos also met with top political leaders of the Veragaras in this city such as Mayor Myca Vergara, Vice Mayor Jay Vergara and his wife Third District Rep. Ria Vergara.

Second District Rep. Mikki Violago and her husband former congressman Joseph Violago with his brother and San Jose City mayoral bet Josel James also pledged their support for the UniTeam.
