BINALONAN, Pangasinan: The Alyansang Guico at Lambino (AGuiLa) has thrown its full support behind former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, candidates for President and Vice President, respectively, in the 2022 elections.

The Team AGuiLa is a group of candidates from different political parties in Pangasinan province that had held assemblies among local officials to call on Duterte-Carpio to run for President.

In next year's polls, Pangasinan Fifth District Rep. Ramon Guico 3rd (Nacionalista Party) will be running for governor while Vice Gov. Mark Lambino of Lakas-Christian Muslim and Democrats (Lakas-CMD) will seek reelection.

The AGuiLa Team had always been supportive of Duterte-Carpio and had wanted her to run for President, according to Lambino.

On July 25, 2021, Team AGuiLa was launched to put together a ticket that will bring development to Pangasinan and later formally announced Guico and Lambino's respective bids for the province's two highest posts.

During the launch, it also pushed Duterte-Carpio to run for President.

Lambino said they will give their 100 percent support to the Davao City mayor, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, whatever position she decides to seek in the 2022 national elections.

On Nov. 11, 2021, Duterte-Carpio officially joined Lakas-CMD with the party's president and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez administering her oath as a member of the party.

Duterte-Carpio then filed her certificate of candidacy for Vice President, in tandem with Marcos.

Lambino said Team AGuiLa welcomes this development and will fully support in Pangasinan the Marcos-Duterte UniTeam in next year's polls.

He added that the UniTeam is formidable as it combines the strength of Northern Philippines and Southern Philippines.

"I believe that this is fortified by the strong support from the central part of Luzon and the premier province of Pangasinan," Lambino said.
