tfcREDWOOD CITY, Calif. – Despite a delay in the approval of visas for them, many Filipino nurses are still searching for work in America.

According to the US State Boards of Nursing, 4,034 Philippine-educated nurses took the US National Licensure Examination in 2013.

While fresh graduates are eager to get employed, Philippine Senator Bongbong Marcos says illegal recruiters and fake manning agencies are also eager to fish the young new workers in order to make a fast buck.

Marcos requested the Philippine Department of Labor and the national police to protect the soon-to-be graduates with guidelines on how to apply for jobs, and to provide them with lists of legal employment agencies and fees.

Marcos also advised graduating students to apply to direct hiring offices, instead of employment agencies.
