Tawi-Tawi leaders declare full support for BBM-Sara tandem; all 11 mayors go all in for UniTeam

THE provincial government of Tawi-Tawi, through the ruling Tawi-Tawi One Party (TOP) on Monday has passed a resolution adopting presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and his running-mate Inday Sara Duterte as its official bets for the 2022 national polls.

In a one-page resolution signed by all local officials of the province headed by Tawi-Tawi Gov. Yshmael “Mang” Sali, chairman of TOP, said they decided to throw their support behind Marcos and Duterte, because they were confident that they could hasten progress in the province and quick recovery from pandemic through their unifying and capable leadership.

“The province of Tawi-Tawi was not spared from the effects and devastation brought by the global pandemic. TOP believes that through unity, the Filipino people can rise again and achieve economic progress,” the resolution said.

The group also said that the platform of programs of the UniTeam, particularly the call for unifying leadership, job creation and the concrete plan to recover from the pandemic were all aligned and beneficial to the province.

“Resolved, as it is hereby resolved, that presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Inday Sara Duterte are hereby unanimously adopted as the candidates for president and vice president, respectively, of Tawi-Tawi One Party,” the resolution declared.

This developed as Gov. Sali also announced that 11 mayors of the 11 municipalities in Tawi-Tawi have also sworn their full support to the UniTeam.

Located in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), the island province was comprised of 11 municipalities.

Of the more than 400,000 household population of Tawi-Tawi, more than 200,000 or 50 percent were in the voting-age  group.

For his part, Marcos welcomed the support of Tawi-Tawi as he assured them of immediate help needed in the province when he gets elected in the upcoming May 9 elections.

“Napaka-importante itong support. Napakalaking bagay na ipakita rin sa tao na dumarami na ang sumasama sa atin. Dumadami na hindi lamang taong-bayan kundi pati na ang mga political leaders syempre sa iba’t ibang probinsya,” Marcos stated.

NAGPASA ng resolusyon ang provincial government ng Tawi-Tawi sa ilalim ng Tawi-Tawi One Party (TOP) nitong Lunes para ideklara na opisyal nilang kandidato sa darating na halalan sina presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at running-mate Inday Sara Duterte.

Sa isang pahinang resolusyon na nilagdaan ng mga lokal na opisyal sa pangunguna ni Tawi-Tawi Gov. Yshmael “Mang” Sali, chairman ng TOP, sinabi nila na napag-desisyunan nilang suportahan ang BBM-Sara UniTeam dahil tiwala sila na matutulungan sila sa muling pag-unlad ng kanilang ekonomiya lalo na sa muling pagbangon mula sa pandemya bitbit ang mapagkaisang pamumuno.

Idinagdag pa ng grupo na ang mga plataporma ng UniTeam tulad ng panawagang pagkakaisa, paglikha ng trabaho at konkretong plano sa pagbangon ng ekonomiya ay tumutugma sa mga pangangailangan ng probinsya.

“Resolved, as it is hereby resolved, that presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Inday Sara Duterte are hereby unanimously adopted as the candidates for president and vice president, respectively, of Tawi-Tawi One Party,” idineklara ng resolusyon.

Kasabay nito, sinabi ni Gov. Sali na 11 alkalde sa 11 munisipalidad ng Tawi-Tawi ang nagpahayag din ng buong suporta sa UniTeam.

Matatagpuan sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), ang Isla ng Tawi-Tawi ay kinabibilangan ng 11 munisipalidad.

Sa mahigit 400,000 populasyon ng probinsya at sa bilang na iyon mahigit 200,000 o 50 porsyento ang botante sa lugar.

Malugod namang tinanggap ni Marcos ang suporta na ibinigay ng mga taga-Tawi-Tawi kasabay ng pangako na makakaasa sila ng agarang tulong sakaling maluklok siya sa pwesto sa darating na halalan sa Mayo 9.

“Napaka-importante itong support. Napakalaking bagay na ipakita rin sa tao na dumarami na ang sumasama sa atin. Nadaragdagan na hindi lamang taong-bayan kundi pati na ang mga political leaders siyempre sa iba't ibang probinsya,” ani Marcos.
