I am disappointed with yet another delay in the submission of the PNP Board of Inquiry’s report on the Mamasapano incident.
On the other hand, I can understand that with such a complicated matter, the BOI needs all the additional time they can get to ensure they would submit a thorough and credible report of their investigation.
I was hoping to receive as early as possible the PNP-BOI report, and the report of other investigating bodies, so we can resume our hearings on the Bangsamoro Basic Law.
In the meantime, we will continue our studies on the BBL and wait for the submission of the PNP and MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation) reports on their respective investigations, which I hope would happen sooner rather than later.
I feel sorry for the families of the slain SAF, MILF and civilians, who are the ones that would be really disappointed with this development. This delay just prolongs their agony and search for the truth.
I just hope the PNP-BOI could live up to their promise to complete and submit their report within the three-day extension they asked for so the families of the victims of Mamasapano incident can have the closure that they justly deserve.
