Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. paid a brief visit to Ilagan City, the capital of Isabela province, on April 13, 2014, upon the invitation of Mayor Josemarie Diaz.
The brief visit to Ilagan City was part of Sen. Bongbong’s trip to Isabela province to inaugurate various infrastructure projects constructed through his assistance and to speak as guest of honor in Cauayan City’s “Gawagaway-yan Festival.”
Mayor Diaz, along with other town officials and officers of the city’s 91 barangays, presented Sen. Bongbong a copy of the City Council’s resolution thanking him for his support, as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Government, which proved instrumental in Isabela’s successful bid for cityhood.
For his part, Sen. Bongbong vowed to pursue and support initiatives in Congress for the benefit of local governments units and local officials.
Isabela’s barangay officials were delighted when Sen. Bongbong told them about his bill to provide retirement and other benefits to barangay officials and barangay volunteer workers.
