Warm welcome greeted Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. by students, teachers and non-teaching personnel of the Cagayan National High School in Tuguegarao City.
Marcos was given a rousing applause on Friday (Sept. 5, 2014) as he inaugurated the school building constructed through his P1 million allocation from his 2012 Priority Development Assistance Fund.
In a short speech after cutting the ribbon, Marcos pointed out that education has been in his list of priority programs.
“Education is my priority. I believe that it is imperative for all of us to pay attention to education. And we have to pay attention to the needs of the students now so that they will become good leaders in our country in the future,” he said.
The school building erected through his PDAF is a 16-room two storey building and is already being used since that start of 2013-2014 school-year.
“Palagi tayong maghahanap ng paraan para pagandahin pa ang ating mga paaralan at maibigay ang mga pangangailangan ng mga estudyante,” Marcos said.
Rep. Randolf s. Ting (3rd District, Cagayan), in behalf of the school community, expressed gratitude and thanked Marcos for his assistance. Ting was with Marcos during the visit and inauguration of the school building.
