IN the 3rd Quarter Pahayag survey of PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. released on Friday, October 22, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos of the Partido Federal ng Filipinas emerged as the most preferred presidential candidate in the 2022 elections.
He was chosen by 49.3% of the respondents, followed by Leni Robredo with 21.3%, Isko Moreno with 8.8%, Ping Lacson with 2.9%, and Manny Pacquiao with 2.8%.
Marcos got more than the number of votes of all the other presidential aspirants combined, which is 35.8%.
Marcos got 40% of the votes of the NCR respondents and, not surprisingly, the majority vote in North and Central Luzon at 55.7%. In South Luzon, he obtained 38.2%; Visayas, 44.7%; and Mindanao, 62.5%.
The overwhelming preference vote he got in Mindanao could negate rumors that his candidacy is weakest in Mindanao.
People privy to both the Sarah Duterte Carpio (SDC) and Bongbong Marcos (BBM) camps are claiming that the presidential aspirants’ rendezvous in Cebu City last Friday could lead to the announcement of an SDC-BBM, or a BBM-SDC, tandem next week.
SDC’s openness to running for either of the two topmost national posts is evident. She wouldn’t be wearing a “Sara All sa 2022” shirt if she weren’t.
The images of her wearing her green shirt have sparked renewed hopes among the diehard Duterte supporters, or the DDS.
However, it is seems it is not Sarah All after all, because there are still rumors that Senator Bong Go (SBG) would instead run for President with PRRD as his vice.
The Marcos camp believes that his performance in the Pahayag survey confirms the growing grassroots’ support for his candidacy.
They also point to informal surveys, such as the Kalye Surveys conducted by independent YouTube vloggers in various parts of the country, as having consistently shown him as the top choice of the people.
Is an SDC-BBM or BBM-SDC, tandem in the offing? We will know very, very soon.
