PUBLiCUS Asia survey May 2-5, BBM 54% stays unreachable;  sure voters hit 90% !

6 May 2022

UP to 90% of presidential frontrunner Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos, Jr.'s supporters will not change their minds in voting for him in the upcoming May 9, 2022 polls, according to the latest survey done by PUBLiCUS Asia, Inc.

The same survey showed that Marcos' base of firm voters or those who are highly unlikely to change their minds has further consolidated, and convincing them to change their decision would only be a useless exercise.

Respondents were asked if they would still change their minds this close to the polls, and an overwhelming number said they are sticking to their choice.

The survey also showed that Marcos was also able to maintain a very comfortable lead of 32 percentage points against his nearest rival based on the latest results of PUBLiCUS Asia's pre-election survey conducted from May 2 to 5, 2022.

The survey firm's PAHAYAG: The Final survey was non-commissioned and utilized 1,500 registered voters as respondents.

Marcos, who is number seven (7) in Comelec’s official ballot, notched a 54% voter preference against his closest competitor for the presidency in the upcoming May 9, 2022, national elections.

Trailing Marcos from a very distant second place is Leni Robredo, who got a 22% voter preference.

Following her in third place is Manila Mayor Isko Domagoso with 8%.

Meanwhile, the number of undecided voters stood at 6% while Senators Ping Lacson and Manny Pacquiao earned a voter preference of 4% and 2%, respectively.

Marcos' running-mate, Inday Sara Duterte gained a 59% voter preference, retaining a 43-percentage point margin against her closest rival for vice presidency.

The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer also posted impressive voter preference scores in key voting grounds such as National Capital Region (NCR) with 37%, North Central Luzon (NCL) with 63%, South Luzon (SL) with 43%, the Visayas (VIS) with 49%, and Mindanao (MIN) with 69%.

The survey results also showed that Marcos still enjoys the majority support of registered voters from across all economic classes; Class ABC with 47%, Class D with 58%, and Class E with 65%.

Marcos and Inday Sara Duterte continue to be the frontrunners in all the major pre-election surveys just a few days before the national polls.

Their call for unity and a policy of not engaging in negative campaigning has endeared them to the Filipino people as evidenced by the massive crowds drawn during their campaign sorties all over the country.

Marcos and Duterte are set to cap the official campaign trail with a miting de avance in Parañaque City on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

Barring any major changes in the preference of Filipino voters, Marcos is set to become the first majority president elected in a multi-party system in the country's history.

It would also be the first time in a long while that a tandem vote for the president and the vice-president would be seen, which ensures a very good working relationship between the two top leaders in the country.
