Manila, Philippines – The Senate local government committee chaired by Sen. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. endorsed years for Senate approval a bill seeking to fix a five-year term of office for barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials instead of their current three-year term.
The measure, Senate Bill No. 3296 introduced by Marcos himself, calls for the extension of the term of barangay and SK officials, elected during the October 25, 2010 elections, up to November 30, 2015.
