Sen. Bongbong Marcos Sends Aid to the Flood Victims of Tropical Storm “Sendong”

Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. donated sacks of rice and assorted medicines to Negros Oriental, Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City for the victims of the flash floods and landslides caused by tropical storm “Sendong.”

Marcos, in his letters sent to Governor Roel R. Degamo of Negros Oriental, to Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano and to Mayor Lawrence L. Cruz of Iligan City, offered the prayers of his family and staff to the suffering victims and expressed hope that they could “immediately return to their normal lives.” He likewise reiterated his sincerest words of concern and commisseration to the victims and families badly affected by “Sendong.”

It may be recalled that Senator Marcos, in support of RA 9729 or the “Climate Change Act of 2009, has filed Senate Bill No. 2885 “An Act Mandating the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to include a Three (3) Units Subject for fhe Study of Climate Change as part of the Curricula for All Courses in the Tertiary Education and for Other Purposes.” Marcos, in addition to his Chairmanship of the Committees of Local Government and the Urban Planning, Housing and Resettlement, is a Member of the Committees of Environment and Natural Resources and Climate Change and other relevant Committees in the Philippine Senate.
