Sen. Bongbong Marcos Reiterates Desire to Hold ARMM Elections in August
Senator Bongbong Marcos reiterated yesterday his preference to proceed with ARMM elections in August this year as scheduled. He said that after hearing first-hand from several ARMM leaders, it may be wiser and more prudent to push through with the elections, since these ARMM leaders warmly welcome and are prepared to heed the will of their people.
If postponement were to be made, he said, it should be for reasons involving operational problems of the Comelec and the other germane logistical issues of conducting polls. Even then, the postponement should only be for a short period of time or until these operational problems are resolved, never to extend as far as synchronizing the ARMM election with the 2013 national and local elections.
