Sen. Bongbong Marcos: Education can Lift RP to a First-World Nation
Senator Bongbong Marcos reminded the new graduates of Our Lady of Fatima University about the role of education in nation building during the Commencement Exercises of Our Lady of Fatima Univerity (OLFU) at the PICC last March 27, Tuesday.
“Having more better educated people means greater chances for this country to rise higher. We now live in the so-called ‘knowledge society’ where education has become a production factor that is more valuable than labor and capital. Hence, investment in education can take us further to being globally competitive,” said Marcos.
During the commencement address, Senator Marcos urged the young graduates to give back to their own country. “This nation is yearning for you—starved for your authenticity, hungry for your service,” he emphasized.
The senator, who is a strong advocate of education, assures the graduates that he will produce more bills to make them stay and utilize their talents in their country and for the service of their fellowmen.
