Sen. Bongbong Marcos allocates P.4 million to Cotabato City Regional Medical Center for indigent patients

8-April-2013-MOA-Cotabato-Regional-Medical-CenterIndigent patients in Cotabato City would no longer need to spend money to travel to Manila just to seek financial assistance from government agencies for their medical needs.

Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. allocated almost half a million pesos to the Cotabato City Regional Medical Center that impoverished residents needing health and medical care can avail of.

Last April 6, Marcos signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Dr. Helen Yambao, hospital chief, for the appropriation of P.4 million from the Senator’s Priority Development Fund to subsidize the medical needs of the hospital’s indigent patients. The MOA signing was held at the office of Dr. Yambao inside the hospital.

“Patients here (Cotabato City) need not travel anymore to Manila to ask for medical and financial assistance because they now can avail of such assistance right here. Malaking tulong sa kanila ‘yan dahil hindi na sila gagatos para sa pamasahe at hindi na rin sila mapapagod sa pagpunta sa aking opisina sa Senado,” he said.

He added that he would enter into similar arrangements with other regional and provincial hospitals, in addition to existing agreements with government hospitals in Manila, to provide indigent patients in the provinces equal access to his office’s program for medical assistance.
