A member of the Ortega political clan of La Union has drawn flak for introducing former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as vice president.
A video posted by Department of Tourism regional director Jeff Ortega posted on his Instagram account showed him calling Marcos as the country’s second highest elected official.
The video had over 11,000 views as of Monday (October 26). It has since been taken down.
Marcos has a pending poll protest against Vice President Leni Robredo, who won over him in the 2016 elections by 263,474 votes.
Ortega is the brother of La Union Governor Francisco “Pacoy” Ortega III. He is also the boyfriend of actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
