Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said having hybrid elections would help ensure transparency in the counting of votes.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, February 3, the Ilocano politiko made the case for the conduct of hybrid polls, wherein votes would be counted manually.
“Ang transparency sa bilangan na hatid ng hybrid elections ay magbibigay ng kakayahan sa mga presinto na makita kung tama ang pagbilang ng kanilang mga boto sa national canvassing. Walang magic o anumang dagdag bawas,” Marcos said.
This issue hits close to home for Marcos, who filed an electoral protest against Vice President Leni Robredo after she beat him by just over 200,000 votes in the 2016 elections.
Senator Imee Marcos, Bongbong Marcos, has already filed a bill calling for hybrid elections in the Philippines.
