People’s Journal – Marcos: Prioritize basic needs of PNP members

Featured-Image-Journal-OnlineSENATOR Bongbong Marcos sees the need to prioritize the basic needs of the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in order for them to focus on their duties and to prevent their involvement in crimes.

The senator also suggested that value formation should be forged in the system again “para maliwanag naman sa kanila na ’yan ang kanilang trabaho… unahin nila ang pag-serbisyo at proteksyon sa mga tao,” he said.

Marcos also noted lapses in the PNP’s screening process.

Kung ganun ang isip talagang tagilid na ’yung screening process,” he said.

As to the suggestions on the transfer of police force to respective local governments, Marcos said that it would not solve the problem or could only worsen the situation.

Kaya parang nagiging personal na security force ’yung pulis,” he said.

According to the senator, rising criminality is a serious problem especially now that the ones expected to protect the public are the ones involved.

“Mahirap ’yan kaya kailangan nating ayusin ang problemang iyan. Dapat ang mga mamamayan, pag nakakakita sila ng pulis, dapat makalma sila or pakiramdam nila na safe sila,” Marcos said.
