People’s Journal – Bongbong welcomes shooters
PAOAY, Ilocos Norte– Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. welcomed shooters competing in the Sen. Bongbong Marcos Cup 2011-World Shoot XVI tuneup match which started the other day here.
“It is my honor and pleasure to welcome the participants. To those who organized this event, my congratulations,” said the senator.
Marcos, a practical shooting enthusiast, led the pistol and rifle proper match ceremonial shoot of the event dubbed as the “Asia Pacific Challenge” at the Marcos combat shooting firing range in Barangay Suba, Paoay.
IPSR regions from within the Asia Pacific fielded their award-winning division teams to compete in what may be the final tune up for the 16th World shoot which is considered as the Olympics of practical shooting set Oct. 2-9, in Rhodes, Greece.
Among the qualified IPSC regions are Philippines, China, Australia, United States, Guam. Japan. Hongkong, Indonesia, Kuwait, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand.
The Bongbong Marcos Cup 2011 is a 17-stage, level III practical shooting match that is specifically designed to present a balanced challenge of exercising all the elements of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) principle–power, speed and accuracy.
