Manila Bulletin – Bongbong Marcos wants DOLE if elected VP

If elected vice president in next year’s election, Senator Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. will negotiate for the position of secretary of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to create and improve programs for employment and livelihood.
“I prefer DOLE because one of the biggest problems of our country is unemployment. I see that there’s a lot to be done (in creating more jobs) and there’s no need to craft new laws and policies. We just have to improve the programs,” Bongbong said during his visit to La Union over the weekend.
Bongbong said he wants the government to train and prepare workers to enter private sector because private institutions are 90-percent employer.
Government infrastructures should be helping the ‘small and medium enterprises’ to increase our economy, which in turn, will create more jobs. We have so many ideas to be done in terms of employment. I can use my trainings on economics,” Marcos said.
Aside from DOLE, Bongbong said he would also like to become head of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC).
“I see lots of problem at the DOTC and I want to fix them if given the chance,” Marcos said.
Marcos met with barangay health workers at the Ortega Cultural and Sports Center, accompanied by local officials led by Mayor Pablo Ortega.
