DMMMSU cites Senator Bongbong Marcos for promoting national development

The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) has given Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. twin citations for his role in promoting national development and the development of their university as well.

The honors were given during the celebration of DMMMSU’s foundation day on January 18, 2013 at its Agoo campus in La Union Province where the senator was the guest speaker. He also led the inauguration of the newly rehabilitated Marcos Sports Center.

“I feel proud because I was able to play even a small part in the development of our educational system here in our country, here in La Union, specifically here in DMMMSU,” Marcos said in his speech.

In a plaque of appreciation, the DMMMSU community, led by its President Atty. Benjamin Sapitula, cited Marcos’ significant role in promoting national development through various cause-oriented projects and initiatives, of which the university is one of the beneficiaries.

In the second plaque, DMMMSU expressed gratitude to Marcos for his assistance in the construction of a Multi-Purpose Building at DMMMSU-NLUC that “contributed immensely to the development of the University.”

“When we invest in our teachers it is an investment in the future; when we invest in the schools, it is an investment in our future; when we invest in our students, it is an investment in our future. And that is what will bring the future that we hope for,” Marcos said.
