ABS-CBN – Bongbong: PNoy knew about breaking chain of command
Senate Committee on Local Government chair Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said that the Thursday, February 12, hearing made it clear that the Mamasapano operation was hidden from acting Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Leonardo Espina and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas.
Because of this, Marcos believes the president should explain his role in the Mamasapano operation.
Marcos said.
“Bakit niya gagawin yon? At hanggang ngayon hindi naming maisip kung bakit, anong advantage, anong maganda doon sa ibe-break ‘yong chain of command,” he said.
Marcos also mentioned that he and the other senators had an executive session with Moro Isalmic Liberation Front Chief Negotiator Mohagher Iqbal.
While he declined to give details on what was mentioned in the session, Marcos said they got a lot of “useful” and “constructive” information from it.
He said that when they have been cleared to talk about what went on in the executive session, they can give the public a more detailed picture of the botched operation.
