Bongbong Marcos Attends 1st NP Campaign Sortie

Ilocos Norte representative and senatorial candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was among the senatorial candidates who graced the opening campaign sortie of the Nacionalista Party (NP) in Calamba, Laguna last Monday.

Townspeople eager to see the candidates of the party lined the streets and cheered the incoming motorcade. The young solon drew loud cheers along the way when he rode on a motorbike to go the St. John the Baptist Church located in the town plaza.

“We are very happy with the reception that the towns we visited showed us today. It further encourages us to press forward in our desire to deliver our message of genuine change.” Bongbong said.

In his message to more 6000 people who gathered at the Calamba town plaza, Bongbong reiterated his strong background in local government management. “I am well-versed in local government. Having been a chief executive myself, I am aware of the serious problems they face on a daily basis. My goal when elected will be to serve as the voice of local government in the senate. I will always aim to bridge the widening gap between the common citizen and the national government,” Bongbong added.

Leading the NP candidates were party standard bearer Senator Manny Villar and Vice Presidential bet Senator Loren Legarda. The NP caravan visited the towns of Binan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, Calamba and San Pedro in Laguna. The crowd that gathered in the town of Calamba numbered in the thousands with a conservative estimate placing it at 10,000.
