Bongbong: BBL up to next administration

Logo_ABSCBNnews.jpgSenator Bongbong Marcos said Wednesday the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) will have to wait for the next administration as the Senate may not have enough time anymore to pass it.

“Baka nasa next administration na, nauubusan na tayo ng panahon,” said Marcos, who chairs the Senate committee on local government tasked to deliberate on the BBL.

Marcos also agreed with the issue earlier raised by Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile that the BBL is a bill of local application and must be approved by the House of Representatives first.

Marcos, however, reiterated that the peace process must continue.

As to his vice presidential candidacy, he said the public can expect him and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago together in sorties soon.

He said Santiago will hand him her schedule and he will choose which events he can join based on his own schedule.

Marcos said Santiago will focus on his strengths which are the “youth, studentry and social media.”

Asked on his views on federalism which is being pushed for by Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte, Marcos said he is open to it.

He, however, refused to comment further on the raging word war between Duterte and Liberal Party bet Mar Roxas because it is the “season of joy”.
