Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte on Friday welcomed the dismissal of the disqualification cases against her running mate Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“Of course this is a welcome development for the UniTeam at makikita po natin na tuloy-tuloy na iyung kanyang (Marcos) kandidatura and tuloy-tuloy na rin iyung aming pangangampanya para sa halalang 2022,” Duterte said.
On Thursday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) First Division junked three disqualification cases filed against Marcos in connection with his failure to file income tax returns in the 80s.
Duterte, who was accompanied by Speaker Lord Allan Jay Velasco, went to Nueva Vizcaya today where they were welcomed by Rep. Luisa Lloren Cuaresma and various local officials.
Cuaresma said she is 100% supporting the Marcos-Duterte UniTeam.
“Natutuwa kami at least pumunta dito ang ating susunod na bise presidente. Nandito lahat yung mga mayors natin, mga councilors at board members,” Cuaresma added.
Nueva Vizcaya has an estimated 300,000 voters.
Before going to Nueva Vizcaya, Duterte made quick stops in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija where she led the inauguration of Kay Inday Sara Lilipad Ang Pilipinas (KISLAP) Headquarters and Marcos Sara Duterte Alliance (Masada) Headquarters.
