Politiko : Mag-adapt na! Bongbong Marcos calls for mindset change towards climate change

Climate change is here – and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said the public must be prepared to adapt to it.

In his latest Instagram video on Wednesday, August 4, the Ilocano politiko said adaptation is key in responding to the mitigating effects of climate change in the country.

“Dapat na nating baguhin ang ating pag-iisip, ang approach sa climate change. Sa ngayon, kailangan na nating tanggapin na ang climate change ay nandito na. Tumaas na tubig ng dagat. Nag-iba na ang takbo ng panahon Ang tawag dito sa mga usapin diyan sa climate change is adaptation,” Marcos said.

As an example, he said that if a one degree increase in the world’s temperature would mean a 10% reduction in harvested rice per year, then farmers should look for other varieties they can plant instead.

“How do you adapt to that? Ang gagawin ninyo, pag-aaralan ninyo nang mabuti ‘yung bagong varieties na mas matibay na puwedeng ilipat o puwedeng gamitin kahit nang uminot nang konti,” said Marcos.
