Another selling point for the proposed hybrid elections? Every vote would be counted, according to former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The Ilocano politiko made the statement as he continues to push for the proposed conduct of hybrid polls in a Facebook post on Friday, January 29.

“Sa sistemang hybrid na eleksyon, mas may kasiguruhan na ang bawat boto ay mabibilang nang tama,” Marcos said.

Marcos himself knows just how important proper vote counting is, having accused Vice President Leni Robredo of cheating him in the 2016 elections. His electoral protest is still pending in the Supreme Court.

Under a hybrid polls set-up, votes would be cast and voted manually, while transmission and canvassing of votes would be done electronically.

Marcos’ sister and Senator Imee Marcos has already filed a bill calling for hybrid elections in the Philippines.
