The camp of defeated the vice presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos expressed disappointment over the decision of the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal, to junk the latter’s motion for inhibition against Associate Justice Marvic Leonen.
The Ilocos Norte politiko on November 9 asked Leonen to inhibit from his poll protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.
Marcos lawyer, Vic Rodriguez, said Leoneon “continues to cling to the case.”
“It is unfortunate that after sitting on the election protest for almost a year, the ponente in charge continues to cling to the case,” he said.
“We are hopeful that the PET will act as swiftly and as decidedly as it did with Justice Leonen’s inhibition and decide our election protest expeditiously,” Rodriguez added.
