Senator Bongbong Marcos’ name is now formally included in the roster of Philippine National Police Academy alumni after he was adopted as honorary member of PNPA Tagapagbuklod Class of 1989.
Marcos took his oath as a member of the PNPA during the 2014 General Alumni Homecoming rites of the PNPA at Camp Gen. Mariano N. Castaneda in Silang, Cavite, the site of the premier training academy for the PNP and members of the Bureau of Jail Management & Penology and Bureau of Fire Protection.
As a new member of the PNPA alumni association, he swore to contribute in efforts towards the development of the association, with the end in view of attaining service proficiency and professionalism.
“This is a very important day for us (adopted honorary members), because biglang dumami ang aming mga kaklase, mga kaibigan, at mga kakampi,” Marcos told members of PNPA Class ’89 in his short acceptance speech.
“Alam naman natin na kadalasan ang mga honorary membership, honorary adoption tulad nito ay kadalasan ceremonial lamang. Asahan ninyo, at least in my case hindi kailangang maging ceremonial lamang,” Marcos said, to the delight of the class members.
