Pilipino Mirror : (Pinuri ng biz community) ECONOMIC TEAM NI BBM

By Pilipino Mirror

PINAPURIHAN ng dalawa sa top business groups sa bansa ang economic team ni President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr., at sinabing malaki ang magagawa nito para maibangon ang ekonomiya na hinagupit ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon kay Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) president George Barcelon, ikinatuwa ng business community ang pagtatalaga kina Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Chief Benjamin Diokno bilang Secretary of Finance, BSP Monetary Board Member Felipe Medalla bilang Central Bank Chief, Arsenio Balisacan bilang National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) secretary at dating University of the Philippine President Alfredo Pascual bilang trade and industry secretary.

“They are all seasoned and competent economic leaders. We believe they would do good in managing our fiscal affairs,” sabi ni Barcelon.

“As you know, we are faced with critical issues such as the huge debt deficit, and the need for post pandemic reforms and programs to sustain recovery, among others,” dagdag pa niya.

Sinabi naman ni Makati Business Club executive director Coco Alcuaz na ang appointments nina Diokno, Baliscan, Medalla, at Pascual para pamunuan ang Finance, NEDA, BSP, at Trade, ayon sa pagkakasunod-sunod, “should boost the confidence of local and foreign businesses, from MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) to big players, that the new administration will promote liberalizing but inclusive policies that will accelerate job creation, competition, and economic recovery.”

Inilarawan ni Alcuaz ang incoming economic managers bilang “experienced” at “well-known leaders.”

“As the first economic czar who has headed the two other big economic agencies—DBM and BSP—Governor Diokno will have rare insight on how the government and private sector work together to boost jobs and growth,” ani Alcuaz.

Sinabi naman ni Barcelon na tiwala ang PCCI na ang binuong economic team ni Marcos ay magdudulot ng kumpiyansa sa local at foreign businesses.
