MMDA Chairman Abalos adds strength to UniTeam’s campaign

7 February 2022

WITH long years of experience as an efficient and effective local government unit chief executive, the UniTeam is confident that former Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos’ addition as its nationwide campaign manager could further solidify and ensure the partnership’s chances in the May 2022 elections.

While ever thankful for the unwavering support, guidance, and leadership of President Rodrigo R. Duterte, Abalos said that with the campaign period starting shortly, he had to leave his post at the MMDA.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Filipino people as MMDA Chairman. The past year was filled with intense challenges … Thus, with utmost gratitude, I respectfully tender my resignation,” he said.

“The campaign period is fast approaching, and I am duty-bound to devote my time and energy to Sen. Bongbong Marcos' campaign as his national campaign manager,” he said in his resignation letter submitted to Duterte.

The UniTeam, for its part, said that Abalos is a huge addition to the campaign, and his role as a national campaign manager is crucial in leading Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos and Inday Sara Duterte to victory.

“His sensible and wise leadership experience would play a big factor in leading the UniTeam to its desired victory, which consequently would be a win for the Filipino people,” the UniTeam said in a statement.

Abalos also said that as the 2022 elections near, he would need to devote his time as the UniTeam's national campaign manager.

"I decided to join the BBM-Sara UniTeam because I genuinely believe in the unifying leadership espoused by our presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and his running-mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.  It's what we really need, especially that we are emerging from a pandemic," Abalos said.

"I have known Bongbong for a long time, and I know that he has the experience and the capability to make things better for our country.  Among the presidential aspirants, I find his unifying message as sincere and necessary in leading the country towards the road to progress and sustainable development," Abalos said.

Abalos served as former Senator Bongbong Marcos' campaign manager for the National Capital Region (NCR) in the last 2016 elections.

Abalos is cited for successfully unifying Metro Manila mayors behind the government's Covid19 response, particularly in crafting safety protocols and rollout of the vaccination program.

"Mabait, magaling at mapagpakumbaba.

Bongbong Marcos' campaign as his national campaign manager,” ani Abalos sa ipinadalang resignation letter kay Pangulong Duterte.

“His sensible and wise leadership experience would play a big factor in leading the UniTeam to its desired victory which consequently would be a win for the Filipino people,” anang UniTeam.

"I decided to join the BBM-Sara UniTeam because I genuinely believe in the unifying leadership espoused by our presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. and his running-mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.  It's what we really need, especially that we are emerging from a pandemic," sabi ni Abalos.

"I have known Bongbong for a long time, and I know that he has the experience and the capability to make things better for our country.  Among the presidential aspirants, I find his unifying message as sincere and necessary in leading the country towards the road to progress and sustainable development," dagdag pa ng opisyal.

"Mabait, magaling at mapagpakumbaba.
