Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. said Malacanang should immediately fire corrupt and inept government officials.
Marcos made the call following President Benigno Aquino III’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), where he said that his patience has ran out, vowing to pursue and hold accountable corrupt and non-performing government officials and employees.
“Well, kung maliwanag na ganun ang nangyayari, unang-una na hindi nagagawa ang kanilang trabaho kung hindi e me masamang ginagawa, dapat talaga tanggalin sa trabaho,” Marcos said.
Marcos said Malacanang should have sacked out corrupt and non-performing officials from the government service much earlier.
“Pero ang tanong e bakit ngayon lang, tatlong taon na ang nakaraan? Pero siguro better late than never. Pero late pa rin,” Marcos said.
During his SONA, the President berated the Bureau of Customs, the Bureau of Immigration and the National Irrigation agencies, as well as the Philippine National Police, among others.
Immediately after the SONA, Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon announced he has offered to resign but the President did not accept it.
Deputy Customs Commissioners Danilo Lim and Juan Lorenzo Tanada likewise offered to resign a day after the SONA but Malacanang is still mum on its action on their resignation.
