Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. today commended a Pinoy children’s choir, which recently bagged the title as “Children’s Choir of the World” in an international competition.
Last July 10, the Hail Mary the Queen Children’s Choir won first prize in the Children’s Folk Choir Competition at the 67th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in North Wales, United Kingdom.
For garnering the highest mark in all of the children’s choir competitions, besting their rivals from 21 other countries, the Filipino choir was awarded the title “Children’s Choir of the World.”
“I congratulate our kids for winning this prestigious title and bringing honor to our country. Once again, they have shown that with innate talent, coupled with dedication in the pursuit for excellence, the Filipinos can be the best in the world,” Marcos said.
In a letter dated July 15, 2013, choirmasters Maria Theresa Vizconde-Roldan and Jude Roldan expressed gratitude to Marcos for his assistance that helped make their world-title feat possible.
“On behalf of the children of the Hail Mary the Queen Children’s Choir, we, the choirmasters would like to extend our sincerest thanks for helping us in our quest to win the first-ever ‘Children’s Choir of the World’ title,” the choirmasters said.
“You supported our funds in our participation at the 67th International Musical Eisteddfod in North Wales, United Kingdom. Thank you for your generosity,” they added.
