SENATOR Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., whose term will expire in 2016, is not leaving politics but says he will run for “some position.”
Reacting to the KBL’s manifesto of support for him to run for President, Marcos says he intends “to be involved in 2016 as a candidate for some position.”
Marcos admitted to being confused with the motive behind the two-page letter of members of Kilusang Bagong Liwanag 2016 or KBL.
KBL also stood for Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, the political party formed by the senator’s father, the late President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
Marcos Jr. insisted he does not know what the letter means. He said It might also be a set-up against him.
“I have already been a subject of attacks although I haven’t said anything yet. And then they would be coming out with this.
Marcos, along with Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, who is being groomed as standard bearer of the Lakas-CMD in the next elections, have been dragged into the multi-billion pork barrel scam perpetuated by the group of Janet Lim-Napoles.
In the letter, a copy of which was given to mediamen covering the Senate, lawyer Oliver Lozano, chairman of the Loyalist for Marcos, Inc., told the former First Lady that “in response to your announcement of Senator Bongbong for President, we submit this OPLAN for your consideration to concretize the common hopes, aspirations and prayers of the suffering people for a good life and great nation.”
Lozano said the new KBL, which was described as the civic arm of Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, is being organized to bolster the Bongbong for President Movement.
In the same letter, he identified the other presidentiables as Vice President Jejomar Binay of the United Nationalist Alliance, and DILG Secretary Manuel Roxas of the Nacionalista Party-Liberal Party.
Marcos was named as the standard bearer of KBL. But the senator pointed out everybody know that he is now affiliated with NP of former Senator Manny Villar.
Marcos said he does not personally know the other signatories in the letter. He will call Lozano to talk about the letter.
