Rep. Sharee Ann Tan (Samar, 2nd Dist.) has assured Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer former Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential bet Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte of her province’s support in the May 9 elections.
Tan made the pledge as Marcos led the UniTeam ticket in barnstorming Samar on Friday amid torrential rains.
The lady solon also appealed to her constituents to protect their votes.
The Petilla clan, one of the politically-influential families of Leyte, have also pledged support for the tandem.
Marcos’ mother, former First Lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos, is from Leyte, while Mayor Sara’s father, President Rodrigo Duterte, was born in Maasin, Southern Leyte.
Tan noted that the Marcos volunteers exerted much effort to make Friday’s event successful despite challenges from inclement weather and insufficient funding.
Tan echoed Marcos’s oft-repeated remark that unity will help bring progress and development to the Philippines.
Gov. Reynolds Michael Tan reiterated that there is no stopping the votes from raining down on the Marcos-Duterte tandem, as well as UniTeam’s senatorial candidates.
“We, the officials of Samar, down to the mayors who believe in UniTeam have committed to bring Marcos-Duterte a 100,000-vote lead on election day, and that’s what we are working on now,” he said.
Government data showed that Samar is home to over 597,000 registered voters in 2022.
