There will be no voter registration on November 30 and December 8, 2020.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced this in a public advisory released Wednesday.

“Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 845, all offices of the Comelec nationwide will be closed on November 30, 2020 (regular holiday) and
December 8, 2020 (special non-working holiday), hence there will be no registration,” read the advisory.

“Likewise, there will be no transactions with the public both in the main and field offices on said days, including the issuance of voter’s certification,” it added.

November 30 is Bonifacio Day while December 8 is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

The Comelec reminded the public that voter registration is conducted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., only during weekdays, with Friday as the designated disinfection day, unless the LGU prescribes a different disinfection day.

“Everyone is enjoined to strictly observe and practice the minimum public health standards inside and outside Comelec offices,” the poll body said.

Voter registration for the May, 2022 polls resumed last September 1 except in areas under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) or Modified ECQ.

The poll body said voter registration will automatically resume in areas under ECQ or MECQ once the quarantine status is either downgraded to general community quarantine (GCQ) or modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), or if quarantine is lifted entirely.
