The negative drug test result of former senator and presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong’’ Marcos Jr. was submitted to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) by his spokesperson, lawyer Vic Rodriguez.

PDEA spokesperson Derrick Arnold Carreon confirmed on Tuesday, Nov. 23, that the negative drug test result of the presidential contender was furnished by the Marcos camp to the PDEA headquarters.

However, Carreon clarified that Marcos Jr. had his drug test taken at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory and not in the PDEA office.

“His spox (spokesperson) just furnished copies (of Marcos’ negative drug test result) to PDEA and NBI po,’’ Carreon explained.

In last week’s live broadcast, President Duterte claimed that an unnamed presidential aspirant is a weak leader with no accomplishments to brandish even going to the extent of saying that the country’s highest government position bet is using cocaine, an announcement that drew public shock.

In response, Marcos Jr. insisted he felt not alluded to by Duterte’s declaration after which he underwent a drug test a few days later.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos gave its Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) the go signal to investigate in a bid to identify the presidential aspirant suggested by the President to be a cocaine user. (Chito A. Chavez)
