ILIGAN CITY - Nacionalista Party (NP) senatorial candidate Bongbong Marcos on Friday urged local government officials here to employ what he called “Diskarteng Pinoy” in solving numerous problems in their area.
He coined the term to describe the innate ingenuity of Filipinos to resolve issues of day to day living.
“We always lack almost everything. We lack training, manpower, financial resources and many others, but through our ‘diskarte’ we’re able to make ends meet at the end of the day,” Bongbong said. “This is a Filipino trait that we can use in addressing issues.”
Meanwhile, Bongbong lauded the city government of Iligan for ensuring that utilities like water resources are being made available for all residents. He witnessed the ground breaking ceremony of a local water system near the cityhall.
“I am happy with the synergistic relationship between and among the local government officials here. This is clear proof that a concerted effort for the common good translates into better services for our people,” Bongbong said.
Bongbong also joined Congressman Vicente “Varf” Belmonte in distributing PhilHealth cards to the residents of Barangay Bagong Silang.
All residents of Ilocos Norte enjoyed 100-percent coverage of health services – free hospitalization, free check-up and free medicine – since Bongbong’s term as governor of the province. “Free healthcare. We have done it in Ilocos and it can be done throughout the Philippines,” he said.
