MANILA, Philippines — The TikTok user linked to an alleged plot to kill presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has been identified, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Monday.

PNP chief Dionardo Carlos disclosed this Monday, saying that the digital trail to the “eventual identification” of the user is still ongoing.

“Identified na po ‘yung gumamit nung TikTok (The TikTok user has been identified),” Carlos said in a press briefing.

“Tuloy tuloy ‘yung kanyang digital trail and then eventual identification. After that sampa ng kaso, issue ng warrant of arrest, and then the tracker teams gets the person responsible for this kind of threat,” he added.

(The digital trail continues for eventual identification. After that, charges will be filed and a warrant of arrest will be issued and then the tracker teams gets the person responsible for this kind of threat.)

Marcos’ camp earlier alleged that there is an assassination plot against him on video app TikTok.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) said that it was taking the supposed assassination threat seriously and that the National Bureau of Investigation has been tasked to verify the said threat.
