MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday released the schedule for extended voter registration hours.
Starting on August 23, the new voter registration schedule will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, according to Comelec.
On Saturdays and holidays, voter registration is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez on Wednesday said the poll body’s en banc “unanimously approved” the voter registration hours, as well as the opening of voter registration on Saturdays and holidays.
According to Jimenez, this development will apply to general community quarantine (GCQ) areas and modified GCQ areas.
The deadline for voter registration is still on September 30.
