Former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. received a plaque of commendation from the National Youth Commission for his exemplary contribution to advancing the rights of the youth during the group's Sangguniang Kabataan Festival at the Skydome of SM North Edsa in Quezon City today. Senator Marcos authored RA 8044 or the Youth in Nation-Building Act which created the NYC. He was also one of the main authors of the Sangguniang Kabataan Reform Act of 2016 which aims to further empower the youth. The said law also provided for the inclusion for the first time of an anti-dynasty provision. Senator Marcos came with his eldest son, Sandro.
